It is Saverio Romano, former Minister of Agriculture in the third Berlusconi government, the professional hit by a seizure order of 58 thousand euros for the accusation of trafficking in illicit influences carried out today by the Guardia di Finanza at the disposal of the investigating judge of Rome.
According to the hypothesis of the accusation formulated by the prosecutor, Romano would have unduly received from a Milanese company (object of a seizure of 1 million euros today) 58 thousand euros in the face of illicit mediation. The investigation concerns the sale, in the course of 2020 during the Covid-19 health emergency, of approximately 120,000 gloves of lower quality than the characteristics provided for in the stipulated contract.
The alleged offense is fraud in public supplies, to the detriment of the Sicily Civil Protection Department. To carry out the military measure of the provincial command of the Guardia di Finanza of Rome, on the order of the judge, who have seized about 1 million euros. “We will defend ourselves, when the opportunity is given, we will explain everything and this seizure will be lifted,” said the former Minister of Agriculture.
