SAN MARINO (ITALPRESS) – The Secretaries of State for Foreign Affairs of San Marino Luca Beccari, Roberto Ciavatta for Health, Federico Pedini Amati for Tourism and Teodoro Lonfernini for Labor, presented to the press the objectives achieved by the Vaccinal Campaign carried out by the Republic of San Marino and its forthcoming opening to San Marino residents abroad and to foreign tourists not residing in Italy (with Sputnik V). Luca Beccari (Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs) underlines that “this press conference offers us the opportunity to make a broad analysis on the evolution of the vaccination campaign in the Republic of San Marino and on the initiatives strictly connected to the theme that the Congress of State is carrying out. San Marino is projected in a rapid manner, towards being a country without infection with a consequent restart of the economy and of all the activities that have suffered from the limitations to mobility. Our vaccination strategy is based on two important assets: the collaboration with the Russian Direct Investment Fund, distributor of Sputnik V, and the agreement with Italy through which we can purchase the vaccines that it approves “. “Yesterday – underlines Roberto Ciavatta, Secretary of State for Health – the Republic of San Marino exceeded 36,000 administrations with over 22,000 vaccinated subjects (some awaiting the second dose). Within a couple of weeks we expect to be able to reach 60% of resident and resident citizens vaccinated with both doses. We used, for the vast majority, the Sputnik V vaccine purchased directly from the Fund that produces and markets it and to a lesser extent the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine found through the agreement with Italy. The ISS strategy envisaged the association of different vaccines to the different risk groups of the population. Now we can talk about a very positive strategy that allowed us to arrive, yesterday, the discharge from the State Hospital of the last patient infected with Covid-19 “. Today “the Republic of San Marino has secured the vulnerable groups, has freed intensive care, no longer hospitalized patients and has started the path towards the restarting of the economy through the reopening of commercial establishments and mobility”. Federico Pedini Amati, Secretary of State for Tourism, underlines that “the important number of Sputnik V vaccines which, as represented by colleagues, is available in the Republic of San Marino, gives us the opportunity to intervene with initiatives that contribute to the restart of the tourism sector. The Congress of State has issued a resolution authorizing the launch of a vaccination campaign that provides for the administration of Sputnik V to foreign tourists not resident in Italy who, on the occasion of their visit to San Marino, can book their vaccination. We have prepared a regulation, which will be issued today and which provides for the launch of the campaign, in agreement with the ISS, starting next May 17. Those who book a stay in San Marino, of at least six nights (3 + 3 at a distance of 21 days minimum and 28 days maximum) you can therefore also book your vaccination (7 days before arrival in San Marino). The cost of the double dose is equal to 50 euros. This opportunity that the Republic of San Marino grants to tourists was made possible by the fruitful collaboration with the Russian fund that produces and markets Sputnik V and is considered particularly interesting because it guarantees the immunization of people who otherwise would not have the possibility. ‘to receive the vaccine in a short time and at the same time it can prove useful to relaunch the tourism sector so tried by the pandemic. I would like to underline that this project starts when the Republic of San Marino has immunized all its citizens and when the State Hospital has no longer infected hospitalized, when the goal long pursued by the Government has therefore been reached. Today our country is finally safe and we can start with new initiatives “. Teodoro Lonfernini, Secretary of State for Labor, stresses that” the commitment of the San Marino government and the collaborations carried out have undoubtedly guaranteed an important result “. Beyond” to what has already been explained regarding the opportunity to vaccinate San Marino residents abroad and foreign tourists who will visit the Republic, there is a third opportunity that we would soon like to be able to consider and that is to vaccinate frontier workers and students who reach San Marino on a daily basis, an important number of people, about 20% of the total population, who live in our country. If we manage to vaccinate all these people too, we will be able to really talk about a Covid-Free country and think about the restart and total reopening of our economy and we will be able to speak with conviction of the rebirth of our beloved Republic “.
