Covid: infections and deaths date back, but less than 8 thousand hospitalizations

Over 4,000 cases with fewer tests, 171 victims. Decrease resuscitations

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 27 – The positive tests for coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Italy have risen to over 4 thousand, according to data from the Ministry of Health, while the victims are still 171. However, the decline in the number of patients continues inexorable in intensive care and in ordinary wards; the latter are now less than 8,000.

To be precise, 4,147 cases were registered in one day; yesterday there were 3,937. The dead were 121 instead, 50 fewer.

The tests decreased compared to the previous day: 243,967 molecular and antigenic swabs were carried out, yesterday they were 260,962. The positivity rate is 1.7%, a slight increase compared to 1.5% yesterday (+ 0.2%).

There are 1,206 patients admitted to intensive care, down by 72 compared to yesterday in the daily balance between entries and exits, while daily entries were 38 (yesterday they were 39). On the other hand, 7,707 patients hospitalized with symptoms in the ordinary wards, 411 fewer in the last 24 hours.

In total, 4,205,970 cases since the beginning of the epidemic, 125,793 deaths. The discharged and healed are instead 3,826,984, with an increase of 10,808 compared to yesterday, while the currently positive drop to 253,193 (-6,836). There are 244,280 people in home isolation (-6,353 compared to yesterday). (HANDLE).
