Covid, Latin America exceeds 1.5 million deaths

(ANSA) – MONTEVIDEO, 08 OCT – The toll of the Covid-19 pandemic in Latin America and the Caribbean has exceeded 1.5 million deaths, according to official data.

The death toll of coronavirus in particular exceeded 600,000 yesterday in Brazil, the second most affected country in the world by the pandemic in absolute terms after the United States. With 605 deaths from Covid per 100,000 inhabitants, Peru is the nation with the highest death rate in the American subcontinent. (HANDLE).
