Covid, the Aosta Valley turns red from 3 May

by admin

The incidence of cases per 100 thousand inhabitants dates back while the Rt index is below 1

AOSTA. The orange window for the Aosta Valley lasted just a week. From 3 May our region will return to the red zone and will be the only one in Italy subject to lockdown while much of the rest of the country will pass or remain in yellow.

In the next few hours, Minister Speranza will sign the ordinance based on data from the control room of Iss and the Ministry of Health on the progress of Covid-19 infections in the territory. As already anticipated yesterday by the President of the Region Erik Lavevaz, the critical data is that of the incidence. According to the flow of data from the Ministry presented at the press conference this afternoon by the ISS, for the Valle d’Aosta the incidence is 265 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, therefore higher than the guard threshold of 250 cases. According to the ISS data, referring to different days (from 19 to 25 April), the incidence is 249.53.

The Rt, on the other hand, remains below 1 even in the upper interval (from 0.72 to 0.92 with an average index of 0.82) and the overall risk classification for the Valley is “low with high probability of progression”.

Pending the order of the President of the Region that adapts the Dpcm to the regional territory, the transition from orange to red will have consequences mainly on the freedom of movement between the Municipalities, on the possibility of visiting friends and relatives and on the operation of shops. and personal services that after just one week of activity will have to lower the shutters and make an appointment with customers at a later date.
