Covid, the bulletin of April 20: in Sicily 1,148 new cases and 36 deaths

There have been 1,148 new cases of Covid found in Sicily in the last 24 hours. Yesterday there were 1,123. The deaths were instead 36 (yesterday 10) and so the overall total of victims of the virus in Sicily rises to 5,208. This is what we read in covid bulletin of 20 April of the Ministry of Health.

There are a total of 1,255 hospitalized patients with symptoms while there are currently 180 people in intensive care units (yesterday they were 176). Boom of people declared cured (2,535) and so the number of current positives falls below the threshold of 25 thousand and stands at 24,899 (of which 23,464 in home isolation).

The number of swabs processed was 25,779 and thus the positivity rate drops to 4.5% (yesterday it was 7.8%).

THE PROVINCE. The province of Palermo still remains the one with the most cases. Here is the detail.

IN ITALY. There are 12,074 coronavirus test positives in Italy in the last 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health. Yesterday there were 8,864. Instead, 390 victims in one day (yesterday 316). In total, the cases since the beginning of the epidemic are 3,891,063, the deaths 117,633. The currently positive are 482,715 (-10,774 compared to yesterday), the healed and discharged 3,290,715 (+22,453). In home isolation there are 456,309 people (-37,180).

These are the molecular and antigenic swabs for the coronavirus carried out in the last 24 hours in Italy, according to data from the Ministry of Health. Yesterday the tests were 146,728. The positivity rate is 4.1%, down from 6% yesterday (-1.9%).

There are 3,151 patients hospitalized in intensive care for Covid in Italy, down by 93 units compared to yesterday in the daily balance between entries and exits, while the daily entries, according to data from the Ministry of Health, were 182 (yesterday 141). In the ordinary wards, on the other hand, 23,255 people are hospitalized, down by 487 compared to yesterday.
