Covid, the bulletin of May 31: in Sicily 258 new cases and 8 deaths

The data released by the Ministry of Health on the progress of the epidemic in our region

There were 258 new cases of covid registered in Sicily in the last 24 hours (yesterday they were 348). The dead were 8 (even yesterday they were 5) and so the total number of victims of the virus rises to 5,827.

Overall, there are 534 people in the hospital (yesterday there were 549), of which 59 in intensive care (yesterday they were 65) and 475 in the medical area (yesterday 484).
201 were healed and therefore at the moment in Sicily there are 9,932 positive (+49) of which 9,398 in home isolation.
The swabs processed were only 11,218 (yesterday 15,841) and therefore the positivity rate stood at 2.29% (yesterday 2.19%).

IN ITALY. There are 82 deaths from Covid recorded in the last 24 hours (yesterday there were 44). The positives were 1,820, down from 2,949 yesterday, according to data from the Ministry of Health.

There are 1,033 patients hospitalized in intensive care for Covid in Italy, down by 28 compared to yesterday in the daily balance between entries and exits, while the daily entries, according to data from the Ministry of Health, were 38 (yesterday they were 27 ).
On the other hand, 6,482 patients hospitalized with symptoms in the ordinary wards, 109 fewer in the last 24 hours.

There are 86,977 molecular and antigenic swabs for the coronavirus carried out in the last 24 hours in Italy. Yesterday there were 164,495. The positivity rate is 2.1%, up from 1.8% yesterday (+ 0.3%).
