Covid, the outbreak widens in Longarone

The positives among the children of the elementary school and kindergarten of Castellavazzo and their families rise to 35, 143 people in isolation and quarantine

LONGARONE. The coronavirus outbreak that broke out in Longarone widens after the discovery on Monday of the positivity of 21 teachers and pupils of the elementary school of Castellavazzo. The new swabs carried out to trace the spread of the virus revealed 3 other positivity of elementary children.

The investigations by the Ulss Prevention Department to trace their contacts and verify the methods of spreading the infection made it possible to link this outbreak a posteriori to other positivity found in the municipality of Longaronese: 8 of family members of children who tested positive and 3 reported at the Castellavazzo nursery school.

The outbreak, the health company underlines, arises from the overall monitoring of 220 people. For some of them the results have not yet arrived, so the numbers could change again. Further control swabs will be scheduled in the coming days, the Ulss says, based on the data that will emerge from the surveillance and the isolation and quarantine measures that have been taken.

The situation is therefore difficult, in terms of numbers, for the municipality of Longarone: the school outbreak in Castellavazzo with a total of 35 cases of positivity among pupils, teachers and family members and other single situations lead to a total of 143 the number of people subject to isolation and quarantine.
