(ANSA) – NAPLES, 09 APR – The architect and artist Riccado Dalisi has disappeared in Naples. Tomorrow the funeral in the Church of San Francesco d’Assisi al Vomero. Born in Potenza on May 1, 1931, he held the chair of Design in the Faculty of Architecture of the Federico II University where he was director and teacher of the School of Specialization in Industrial Design.

In the seventies, together with Sottsass, Mendini and others, he was the founder of Global Tools, the so-called radical architecture whose works are also part of the permanent collections of the Center Pompidou in Paris and of the Madre in Naples.

Always engaged in the social field, in his expressive research he used ‘poor’ materials. In 1981 he won the Compasso d’Oro for research on the Neapolitan coffee maker.

His creativity is expressed through research, design, sculpture, painting, art, craftsmanship. With the tin compass he launched an initiative in the name of eco-compatibility and degrowth. He has exhibited in major European cities and also at the Venice Biennale, the Milan Triennale, the MOMA in New York, the Palazzo Reale and the MANN in Naples. ‘On tiptoe Riccardo left us’, the announcement of the artist’s family given on the facebook page.
