Curfew at 11pm, slow return to normal: what will change for restaurants, cinemas and theaters

by admin

The government will soon announce the one-hour postponement of the embargo: a measure expected by thousands of operators

The new decree, which will be fired in the next few hours after the last filings necessary to agree the parties that make up the majority and the prescriptions established by the CTS, will most likely introduce the expected novelty of the curfew shortening. As early as Monday 16 in all probability the time by which to return home will shift from 22 to 23, while the deadline of the embargo will again expire at 5. This could be the prelude to the complete cancellation of the curfew, on which the operators especially push of holiday resorts.

What changes

Currently the curfew starts at 10pm and ends at 5am. Movements within this time slot are allowed only for work-related reasons or for urgent needs, which must be illustrated in the event of an inspection. With the new decree, the time slot is restricted, with the deadline moving from 10pm to 11pm.

Restaurants
The extension would benefit in particular the clubs and above all the restaurants, which could make the customers dine with greater tranquility and aim to organize a double evening shift, an option kept well in mind by the structures that have little availability of outdoor seating. It is not excluded that the decree may fix a sort of indication on the time at which to end the service, which could be identified at 10.30pm: it should be remembered that at the time indicated as the start of the curfew (currently 10pm, tomorrow 11pm) you must already have reached your home or residence.

Cinema
The measure could also restore momentum to cinemas and in particular to large multiplexes, which in Friuli Venezia Giulia have not yet reopened in the vast majority of cases. For two reasons: the first is linked to the ban on the sale of drinks and food, a very important item in the turnover of multiplexes; the second is derived precisely from the timetable: the curfew at 10 pm forces us to bring forward the last evening screening by much, cutting the late night entirely. The postponement of the obligation to return home to 11 pm could allow cinema managers to expand the offer and increase the number of screenings.

Theater
The curfew at 11pm instead of 10pm will also give some respite to theaters, which will therefore be able to return to programming their shows at more traditional times and bring down the curtain in time to allow spectators to return home. Several regional buildings have begun planning the unusual season which, in many cases, will embrace the end of spring, all summer and early autumn, periods in which the boxes generally remain empty.
