The word daebak in Korean it means “incredible!”. This is one of the things we discover on page 18 when we read the article on South Korea, a country halfway between China and Japan. The capital, Seoul, is one of the most technological cities in the world. It has a very fast internet connection and its inhabitants move through the streets full of illuminated signs using telephones and digital kiosks to get information of any kind: on traffic, on air quality or on the nearest place to play soccer.

South Korea is also the homeland of k-pop, a musical genre born in 1992 that in a few years has achieved great success thanks to the choreography of the bands studied in detail.

But if you prefer the Northern Seas sagas to TikTok ballets and synchronized dance moves, on page 30 you can dive off the coast of Norway in search of legendary sea monsters: the krakens. It is said that they looked like a giant octopus and that they could drag an entire galleon to the bottom of the sea, complete with sails, mast and crew. As early as 1250 a Norwegian natural history text spoke of it with amazement because “to most people these creatures might seem incredible”. Daebak!
