Matteo Piva, 37 years old

The movements of the pharmacist’s partner have been reconstructed by the carabinieri: the deposition of the man appears credible

the background / 2

“I cannot and do not want to talk. There is an ongoing investigation and above all we await the results of the autopsy “: courteous but determined, Matteo Piva, Serena Fasan’s companion, adds nothing to what was said in the immediacy of the tragedy: it was he who discovered her body lifeless and to call 118 at 18.30 last Wednesday. According to the first medical-legal reports, the woman died at 6 pm. Matteo Piva was preparing to open the “Ai Do Gati” restaurant in via Filzi that afternoon: according to the first reconstructions, he was involved in some commissions around the city, and has been seen by some witnesses. Including: he opened the pub and went to get some cups that would be used for the pub. The carabinieri have verified these movements, and everything would be done in the times described. In the meantime, a call had come from Serena’s father, Francesco, worried that he was unable to contact his daughter. Probably an anomalous situation, but justifiable by many factors: for example the fact of having silenced it so as not to disturb little Ettore’s sleep or the fact of having forgotten it in the car parked outside the house. In any case, probably because he passed not far from his home, Matteo Piva decided to check personally if his partner was at home. When he opened the door he found Serena’s lifeless body in the living room: the cell phone was next to her. He tried to revive her.
