The US law enforcement agencies released a series of video evidence collected as part of the investigation into the fatal accident that took place on October 21, 2021, during the filming of the film “Rush“in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Director of photography Halyna Hutchins died after being hit by a bullet from a weapon handled by actor and film producer Alec Baldwin. Materials released by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office include bodycam recordings made by the police upon arrival on set where doctors were caring for the injured, with a helicopter in the background.
Other videos show investigators interrogating Baldwin just hours after the fatal shooting, talking to him inside an office, and footage of Baldwin in costume and testing the gun.
Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza said the investigation remains open and the results of the FBI’s ballistics and forensics analysis, as well as fingerprint and DNA studies are expected.
In one of the videos Baldwin is seen agitated on the phone saying, “You have no idea how amazing and weird this is.” Then we see his interrogation – as reported by Ap – in which the actor reconstructs the facts: «I drew the gun slowly, I turned it, I loaded it. Bang. The shot starts. She falls to the ground. He starts screaming. ” In the footage dated October 21, Baldwin reiterates that there had been no previous gun problems on set.
