The Chief of Police intervenes, examining the statements of the Gorizia

UDINE. “I received news immediately after the incident and, immediately, we started the examination of the behavior that will be evaluated in the competent offices”. From Foggia the head of the police, Lamberto Giannini, returns to the case of the deputy commissioner Nunzia Alessandra Schilirò, the Gorizia police officer who, during a demonstration in Rome, publicly spoke out against the Green pass. Gandhiana, ready to defend the Constitution, the police officer now risks suspension. It is Facebook, for the fourth time, that blocks a post because it does not comply with the social standards.

But she doesn’t stop. On his Facebook page, Schilirò insists: »I just said that I swore on the Constitution and I intend to respect that oath … I thank with all my heart the thousands of people who are contacting me. Be patient, sooner or later, I will be able to read and answer everyone or at least I will try. In the meantime, all my gratitude will certainly reach you ». Although the Chief of Police has assured that the behavior of the deputy commissioner against the Green pass will be examined in the competent offices. Giannini appreciated «the many members of the State Police who worked, who managed complex situations of public order and were injured. All the rest – he reiterated – will be discussed in the competent offices ». Even the Minister of the Interior Luciana Lamorgese, has already defined the statements of the assistant commissioner as “very serious”, but despite this the policewoman does not back down. She thanks the many who follow her on social media, but she doesn’t answer the phone: the device keeps ringing empty.

Meanwhile, the case continues to make politicians argue as well. “Speaking from a stage addressing the crowd, albeit in civilian clothes, is not so much part of freedom of expression as participation in political life. Appealing to article 21 of the Constitution is not enough: it is an abused scheme, all the more so if it is clear that freedom of opinion in the Charter was sanctioned by those who knew what it meant to live in a regime “says the senator of Forza Italia, Franco Dal Mas, in inviting the assistant commissioner “to abandon the uniform and to engage in politics”.

«Going up on that stage and speaking from that microphone, the assistant commissioner has nominated herself as head of the people, now draw the consequences. Do not wait for the sanctions to pass as a victim, you are free to do so, as stipulated in Article 49 of the Constitution “insists the senator forcibly, according to which what Schilirò” is not free to feed any doubt on the fact that his professional conduct can be influenced by his personal convictions: the servants of the state are required to enforce the laws even if they do not share them, except for clearly illegitimate orders ».

The position of the Free Police Syndicate (Lisipo) is different, which through the voice of its general secretary, Antonio de Lieto, expresses solidarity with the deputy commissioner «for the alleged disciplinary proceedings against him. The Lispo – we still read in the note – makes its legal department available to the official ».
