Donald Trump writes a love letter to Melania, but the intention behind it is not too romantic

by admin

Donald Trump has written a love letter for his wife Melania, in which he praises her and thanks her for always being by his side. Or so it seems. The letter is actually a call for supporters to donate money to his campaign.

Romance and Donald Trump, these are words you might not have expected in the same sentence. It was therefore a shock for many supporters when they received an email from the former president on Wednesday, Valentine’s Day, with the subject: “This is a Valentine’s Day letter from Donald J Trump”.

“Dear Melania, I love you,” the letter begins. “Even after every persecution, arrest and witch hunt, you have remained by my side. You have always supported me in everything. I wouldn’t be the man I am today without your advice, love and warmth. You will always mean the world to me, Melania. From your husband with love, Donald J Trump.”

Heart-warming, you might think. Until you click on the three big red buttons with ‘send your love’ on them. They send you to a website where you can send a personal message to Melania if you donate money to Trump’s campaign. The amounts range from $20.24 to $3,300 and even more.

Much ink has been spilled about the relationship between Trump and Melania, his third wife, during his presidency and afterwards. She appears very little in public and is barely seen at her husband’s side, which has led to several speculations about whether they are still together. According to recent reports, much of that absence has to do with the death of her mother, and Trump told Fox News a few weeks ago that his wife certainly wants to “make America great again.” “She will play a major role in the campaign to seize power again. I think she will be very active.”
