Double femicide in Vicenza: reports to the inspectors of the Ministry of Justice

I am arriving in Vicenza, after the double femicide committed by Zlatan Vasiljevic who killed his ex-wife and girlfriend, inspectors sent by the Minister of Justice, Marta Cartabia.

The inspectors will have the task of examining in detail the entire judicial process of the multiple murderer, who shot his ex-wife on 9 June Lidia Miljkovic and to what for a few months had been his new partner, Gabriela Serranobefore taking his own life in a car on the west ring road of Vicenza.

In particular, the inspectors will have to reconstruct the path in the courtrooms of the man of Serbian origin to understand if there has been negligence in the evaluation of his personal profile and his responsibilities. Further aspects, also useful to investigators, will emerge from the autopsy exams at the Vicenza hospital.

After the autopsy on the body of the two women, clearance for burial will be granted. The funeral should be held between Wednesday and Thursday in different places: that of Lidia Miljkovic in Vicenza (in the Serbian Orthodox church, close to the historic center, which the victim used to frequent) while that of Gabriela Serrano is scheduled in Rubano (Padua), country where he lived. On the day of the funeral there will be city mourning in Schio where Lidia had been residing for some time, while an extraordinary municipal council on the subject of femicides was convened in Vicenza for Tuesday evening.

According to what has been leaked, Vasiljevic’s body should be repatriated quickly to Serbia, where his mother and other relatives currently live. Also in this case everything can happen when the authorization for the burial is granted.
