The Commissioner of Pordenone closed Papi on the beach for 75 days. The police version talks about gatherings on the track, the manager’s replca: the only event, then closed pending the green pass
ROVEREDO IN PIANO. Vast outbreak of Covid 19 after the evening with DJ sets, the commissioner of Pordenone Marco Odorisio closed the Papi on the beach, a public exercise in Roveredo in Piano, for 75 days. This is a suspension of the license to the bar pursuant to article 100 of the consolidated text of public safety laws. From the investigations carried out, the Police Headquarters stated that it had found “a serious situation, with prejudice to public safety, the safety of people and the physical safety of the same”. Hence the adoption of the provision.
As of July 28, the Prevention Department of the Western Friuli Health Authority (AsFo) counted 55 infections among Pordenone, Treviso and personnel of the American military base in Aviano, highlighting the seriousness of the situation from an epidemiological point of view and possible health consequences. The first AsFo report to the police chief of Pordenone dates back to 23 July, with which he was informed of the outbreak that developed after a party organized on the night between Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 July. An outbreak “characterized, in terms of size, as one of the most important, certainly the largest in the region”, underlined the Police Headquarters in a note.
Immediately the administrative and security police detailed the facts, collecting the testimonies of about twenty boys who had participated in the DJ set. The investigators managed to download a video, which was later removed, in which “dozens and dozens of young people, without masks, crowded to dance close to the console”, “without the managers of the club inviting them to remain seated in their place or interrupted the evening to safeguard the safety of the young people themselves ».
The police also found gatherings outside, during the queue at the entrance, estimated that about 300 people were present at the Popes (the place closed at 4 am) and added that similar evenings would be organized on summer weekends, without the license regulating dance activities. As already on 25 May 2019 the venue had been sanctioned with a first closure of 90 days always pursuant to article 100, the police chief Odorisio sent the proposal to revoke the license to the mayor of Roveredo in Piano.
