Customs law | Draft law to abolish the Cuxhaven free zone (BMF)

On April 5, 2024, the BMF published the draft bill of a law to abolish the Cuxhaven free zone. In addition to the abolition of the Cuxhaven free zone, the proposed law includes adjustments to other customs laws that require revision in various respects.

Key measures of the project:

Abolition of the Cuxhaven free zone,

Adaptation of individual regulations of the AO, the Customs Administration Act ( ZollVG ) and the Troop Customs Act (Tr ZollG), taking into account recent case law of the BVerfG on the design of blanks to reinforce Union law (EU blanks) to the Union Customs Code (UZK).
