The victim is a 59-year-old woman from Spresiano. The boy, in shock, tried in vain to help her
SPRESIAN. She slipped into the only dangerous point of path 938 that climbs from Pozze Smeraldine towards Lago del Ciul, in the province of Pordenone, and picked up speed by taking a rocky gully that made her fall for about twenty-five meters to the bed of the pools, losing life. With her was her son, who rushed to her in shock and then went down the stream to look for an area that had enough field to call for help. The victim is CP, from 1962, from Spresiano.
The call arrived at Sores just before 3pm. The Civil Defense helicopter was sent to the site. On board the helicopter an Alpine Rescue doctor embarked in Tolmezzo. Unfortunately, the doctor, who landed on the spot, could not help but ascertain the death of the woman. It was then necessary to wait for the authorization from the magistrate for the removal of the body.
The teams from the Maniago station arrived on the spot – covering a stretch with the off-road vehicle and a stretch on foot – with eight rescuers, the Guardia di Finanza and the Fire Brigade.
The carabinieri of Meduno collaborated in the operations.
