The vehicle caught fire after it hit a tree

(ANSA) – WASHINGTON, APR 19 – Two people died in Texas aboard a Tesla that police believe almost certainly had no one driving. The Wall Street Journal reports it.

The vehicle was traveling at high speed north of Houston when it crashed into a tree and caught fire. When the police arrived at the crash site, one of the two victims was sitting in the seat next to the driver and the other in the back.

Investigators have not yet ascertained whether the driving assistance system was in operation at the time of the impact.

On its website, Tesla warns that such a system does not make cars fully autonomous and that driver supervision is still required. (HANDLE).
