Drunk man hits Kilchberg town sign and overturns

A drunk driver overturned his vehicle around 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday morning, April 23rd. According to the police, the 40-year-old was driving a Fiat Punto on Bahnhofstrasse in the direction of Kilchberg. Shortly before entering the town he left the road and ran over a guide post. About 100 meters further he collided with the town sign and skidded. The vehicle then overturned and came to a stop in the ditch. The driver sustained minor injuries and had to be taken to a clinic in an ambulance. The man was so drunk that he had to have his blood drawn for a breathalyzer test. A preliminary test already showed a value of over 2.5 per mille. The 40-year-old does not have a driver’s license. The Fiat was recovered by a tow truck. The police estimate the damage at 5,000 euros.
