In Liguria hefty fines for sunbathing

Throughout Liguria, checks were carried out on the many beaches of the two rivieras which were generally deserted. Among other things, an extensive control operation took place on the coast of Sanremo to verify the regularity of the people who were on the beach, in light of the recent establishment of a red zone in the province of Imperia. The military went both along the Empress and to the King Bridges, the two areas usually beaten by tourists, who took advantage of this hot, but windy, day to get the first tan. For those who were on the beach, identification was taken and now checks are underway to verify the regularity of their presence. It emerged that about fifty percent of the people checked came from outside the region. Going to the beach is not forbidden but the person must live or have a second home within a few hundred meters. A 400 euro report was issued for the offenders.
