Easter, lunch with the virus: 16 infected in Capaccio – breaking latest news

by admin

CAPACCIO PAESTUM – They did not want to give up spending the Easter holidays with their relatives and they also celebrated Covid together with them. Two large families from Capaccio Paestum, residing in the locality of Laura, a few days from the “meeting places” began to feel the symptoms of the virus. Once the swab was done, the response led to the sad finding: all infected. There are 16 of them and in the chain of contacts there are dozens of other people who have met the positives or suspected infected. A story that repeats itself: despite the recommendations, there are those who continue to have tables and parties which then lead to an epilogue that is anything but pleasant. And it is no coincidence that the Covid positives tend to grow after particular occasions such as holidays or the like.

In recent days, some families of non-EU citizens, residing in Torre di Mare, led to an increase in the total of positives. Until yesterday there were 134 positives with 244 people in trust quarantine. The rise in the number of infected people led the mayor Franco Alfieri to order the closure, yesterday, of another school complex, that of the Primary School of Licinella. The lessons will take place in dad until April 30th. The same goes for other complexes, as required by an ordinance of 12 April last. The new cases occurred in the “Capaccio Paestum” Comprehensive Institute and in the “Carducci” Comprehensive Institute.

The mayor, after having heard their respective school managers, Enrica Paolino and Silvana Pepe signed the ordinance which provides for the suspension of teaching activities in presence until Friday 30 April for the Primary of Gromola, for the Primary of Ponte Barizzo, for the nursery school in Licinella and in the Primary school of Tempa San Paolo. A useful timing to avoid the spread of the virus among young learners and between them and school staff. With more than 15 days off, we try to cancel any risk of new contagion and avoid potential outbreaks that could have important consequences, among the families of the little ones, towards which the possibility of observing the anti-Covid prescriptions is perhaps more complicated. With these measures, we are trying to put a stop to the escalation of new cases.
