SAN BIAGIO DI CALLALTA. They were celebrating with music, food, drinks and a few grams of marijuana inside an abandoned factory: an abusive party in the middle of the red zone, but interrupted by the carabinieri. For many young people from Treviso, the call of Easter Monday, traditionally dedicated to barbecues in company and going out of town, was irresistible. In this case, however, the five boys involved in the party will have to pay dearly for their adolescent desire to escape.
Suspicious of the comings and goings, perhaps even by some noise or by the echoes of the music coming out of portable speakers, some neighbors contacted the police. When they arrived on the spot, at number 6 in via Milano, in the industrial area of Olmi di San Biagio, the carabinieri of the nearby Silea station found themselves in front of a mini-gathering of children residing in the area.
There were five of them, two seventeen and three sixteen: they were all fined with an administrative fine of 400 euros for violating the restrictive rules related to the containment of Covid-19. The group had climbed over the wall that borders the production area, currently abandoned, and had chosen to “revive” the spaces with drinks, food, music and even a little joint.
A few grams of marijuana, the owner of which chose to spontaneously hand over the weapon to the military and which were seized. The young man will inevitably be reported to the administrative authorities as a drug user. Easter Monday’s adventure at the ex Geco, named after the activity present on site and failed a few months ago, will probably remember it for a long time.
The same applies to young people surprised, always on Easter Monday, while they indulged in a picnic along the Piave, within the municipal area of Valdobbiadene. Among the 40 people fined on the long weekend of the Easter holidays there are also ten young people surprised on the river bed without a mask.
Returning to the municipality of San Biagio, the activity of the local inter-municipal police was also important, under the coordination of commander Barbara Ciambotti, who sanctioned a total of 6 people: two in Zenson di Piave, two in Monastier and two in San Biagio. Here too, further downstream from the river sacred to the homeland, the agents found some bivouacs and picnics.
«Thanks to the police, the Carabinieri and the local police for the great control work they are carrying out on the territory» comments the mayor of San Biagio, Alberto Cappelletto «also collecting the reports that come from the citizens. Unfortunately, the long period of restrictions is putting a strain on all of us and especially the youngest who, due to the exuberance typical of their age, struggle to accept the prohibitions. I appeal to everyone: respecting the rules is fundamental for one’s own safety and that of others. If we still hold out we can hope, thanks also to the vaccination campaign, to experience a summer in greater freedom. This is not the time to give up ». –
