Emotions and practical help for the little ones: Donate 1 smile handed over 30 thousand euros

The organizers gave support to the families of two children

Belluno. Solidarity, emotions and smiles accompanied the donation ceremony of Dona 1 Sorriso, the charity event born around the popular three-on-three soccer tournament, which was skipped this year due to Covid.

The checks were delivered on Friday evening at the Pian dei Castaldi hut, above Barp di Sedico. This time the organizers wanted to give a concrete sign to the families of two children: Giuseppe (5 years old) and Emili (7 years old). Each of the two was donated the sum of 8 thousand euros.

The parents thanked the organizers “for your precious contribution”, they said, “and for everything you do”.

But this seventeenth edition of Dona 1 Sorriso has also looked with great attention to the world of local volunteering. So much so that a part of the proceeds was donated to support two projects.

The first is called “Summer together”, was conceived by Elena Collazuol and consists of a summer center aimed at inserting some children with important disabilities in an inclusive context. In this way, children can relate and interact even with peers who do not have motor, intellectual or learning difficulties.

The second project is dedicated to music therapy, «therapy conducted through sounds», explained Marzia Da Rold, «following a path that leads to a change in children with developmental problems».

Finally, another part of the proceeds (which, in total, amounted to about 30 thousand euros) was allocated to six associations: Aisla (“I suffer from ALS”, it was recalled, “in the last year they have increased” ), Giorgia’s Balloon (“Let’s keep Giorgia’s memory alive by trying to help adolescents”, the leaders of this reality remarked), Cusighe’s Parents Committee (“We want to be close to those in need”, they assured, “also through alternative therapies and techniques “).

And then again Assi (the disabled sports social association led by the Paralympic archery champion Oscar De Pellegrin), the Comité d’Intesa (“You have supported us for years”, they said, “and for this you deserve a double thanks” ) and Aism (the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association).

Despite the difficulties of the past year, the pandemic has failed to curb solidarity. The numbers recorded in this seventeenth edition are proof of this. Over 1,400 Dona 1 Smile T-shirts purchased in recent weeks.

Lottery tickets sold, on the other hand, reached 17,000.

«On our part there is great satisfaction», said the top management of Dona 1 Sorriso, «if we also count the fact that it was legitimate to expect a marked decline in numbers, because selling T-shirts and tickets under the gazebo is not easy. We are happy we were wrong. The important thing, however, is to be faithful to our principle, which is to lend a hand to those in need. We have been here for 17 years and have no intention of giving up. We’ll hold on until at least the 20 mark, then we’ll see “.
