EU with billions in aid: Hydrogen on course for a comeback? Invest now in the winners of tomorrow

The EU is paving the way for billions in investments in climate change. Guest author Bryan Perry explains what role hydrogen plays and how investors can benefit.

As the fuel of the future, the lightest, simplest and unlimitedly available of all elements should play a central role in transforming the economy towards climate neutrality. Produced in a climate-neutral manner using wind or solar power in so-called electrolysers, hydrogen will be used not only in the mobility of the future, but across sectors, for example in the chemical and steel industries or as fuel in gas power plants. Wherever electrification is not possible in industry and the energy sector, hydrogen will ensure climate neutrality in the future.

Many hydrogen projects are already in the starting blocks, but the green hydrogen technologies are expensive and often do not yet make a profit, which is why companies need money from the state. Now the EU has cleared the way for billions in aid for the hydrogen infrastructure. Good news for Europe, which wants to become a market leader in green hydrogen, and good news for the industry!
