In Acciaierie d’Italia, formerly Ilva, a case for the green pass breaks out in Taranto. In a letter to the prefect of Taranto, Demetrio Martino, the metalworking unions Fim Cisl, Fiom Cgil and Uilm affirm that the former Ilva “disregarding the provisions of the dl and the internal procedure, sent a communication to workers without a Green Pass , starting next Monday 11 October ’21, the deactivation of the badge and the placement in ordinary redundancy fund “.

“We consider it unacceptable – say the unions – the attitude of Acciaierie d’Italia which once again shows the worst face and above all the failure to apply the provisions of the current legislative decree 127/2021”.

For the trade unions it is a “unilateral and incomprehensible act” that must be “absolutely modified in compliance with the provisions of the decree law. In the absence of a withdrawal of the company instructions given to the workers of Acciaierie d’Italia – the unions announce to the prefect of Taranto – we will convene on 11 October ’21 at 9 am at the Prefecture of Taranto “.

The trade unions remind the prefect that Acciaierie d’Italia held meetings with the metalworking companies “to address a series of problems with regards to managing the entry of personnel in force at Acciaierie d’Italia”. In essence, “the company, in order to comply with the provisions of Article 3 of Legislative Decree 127/2021 regarding the use of green certifications in the private sector, has activated an internal procedure in which it has implemented the methods and timing for submitting the Green Pass in accordance with the provisions of the same dl “.

On 5 October, in practice, Acciaierie d’Italia reached an agreement with the trade unions which provided, following the requests made at the table by the three engineering companies, the company’s willingness to perform free tampons for workers who are not temporarily vaccinated. An agreement that now appears to have been shelved.

Official sources of Acciaierie d’Italia communicate that “the date of entry into force of the prescription is, as is well known, October 15 and as such it will be applied”.
