[Epoch Times November 02, 2021](Interviews and reports by Epoch Times reporters Luo Ya and Zhao Fenghua) The Ministry of Commerce of the Communist Party of China formally submitted an application to join the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement. The General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping also talked about promoting international cooperation in the digital economy at the G20 summit. Financial experts said that the CCP has been obstructing the international sharing of data and information, and its remarks are difficult to gain the trust of the international community.

According to the official website of the Ministry of Commerce of the Communist Party of China, on November 1, Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce of the Communist Party of China, sent a letter to O’Connor, Minister of Trade and Export Growth of New Zealand, to formally apply for accession to New Zealand, the depositary of the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA).

According to the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping mentioned in a video at the Group of Twenty (G20) Leaders Summit that the Chinese Communist Party attaches great importance to international cooperation in the digital economy and is willing to work with all parties to promote the health of the digital economy. Orderly development.

In this regard, Taiwan’s well-known financial expert Huang Shicong said in an interview with The Epoch Times reporter that the CCP has always obstructed the international sharing of data, and now it claims to promote international cooperation in the digital economy. Huang Shicong said: “Of course there is no way to believe it. What he (Xi Jinping) mentioned, like this so-called data source, data analysis, data research and development, or the future economy of data, includes information like digital currency or global digital information. Exchange, this is indeed very important. But if China is still collecting people’s information to you in China in this way, do you share your Chinese data with foreign countries?”

“I’ll give you an example. For example, Tesla’s data in China can only stay in China and cannot go to the United States. This is a situation. But Douyin, if you collect data from the United States, you can get it to China. Do this so-called use.”

“So, I think this is an asymmetry. It just uses the so-called initiative and everyone joins in. I can read your information, but you can’t get my information. Let’s talk about it. It is quite clear that in recent years, China, including some important data companies, has not been able to list overseas. This is a channel that hinders data sharing in China.”

“Then you are now advocating that you want to share it together. Speaking of it, its sayings and methods are two sets of logic, and they are very nice, but they are not doing this. In the past period of time, The U.S. government or international organizations will believe in the CCP’s practice.”

Huang Shicong said, but the United States and other international communities no longer believe in the words of the Chinese Communist Party.

Huang Shicong said: “Obviously, from Trump to Biden now, they have slowly noticed that, including the United States, there are many voices saying that we need to see what he does. So now he (the Chinese Communist Party) talks about this. I think at best it is reduced to him speaking his own words. Then, do you believe it internationally? I don’t think it will be believed internationally.”

Public information shows that the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA) was jointly signed by Singapore, Chile and New Zealand on June 12, 2020, and aims to strengthen economic cooperation in the digital field among countries around the world.
