Condolences in Bordighera for the death of Pasquale Mileto. Historical socialist and councilor for public works in the eighties and nineties and then a UIL trade unionist, he passed away from the hospital in Imperia, where he had been hospitalized for some time. He was 73 years old. With him goes one of the last exponents of a political and administrative era of the extreme western Liguria. His father, Antonio, had been the deputy mayor of Bordighera in the seventies and eighties. Pasquale Mileto, whom his friends called Paky, leaves his wife Daniela and their children Antonio and Diego and his brother Pietro. The funeral will be held tomorrow, at 3 pm, at the church of the Holy Land.
The general secretary of Uil Liguria remembers him thus: “For many years Pasquale has been a point of reference for the trade union in the west of our region, constantly alongside Ligurian workers”. The Ventimiglia trade unionist Italo Castelli: «A very good person, very delicate and kind: a true trade unionist, who took care of workers’ rights and defended them to the point of weariness».
