Feltre fire brigade, intense balance sheet

At the blessing for the feast of Santa Barbara, draw the sums of a year of commitment

FELTRE. Intense budget for the firefighters of the Feltre detachment, who have drawn the sums of a year of activity on the occasion of the feast of Santa Barbara.

The patron saint was honored with a simple outdoor ceremony in the square of the barracks in via Bagnols, with the blessing to men and means given by the parish priest of the Cathedral, Don Angelo Balcon. Given the pandemic situation, in fact, the firefighters of the Feltre detachment led by Ezio De Pellegrin had to renounce once again this year the usual and expected party with the population.

However, the traditional balance sheet of the activity carried out was not lacking. Thus, during the year, 109 interventions for generic fire, 10 for forest fire and scrub, 39 for the recovery of freight vehicles, 73 for road accidents, 54 for static instability and 74 for damages were carried out by the Feltre branch. ‘water as overflows and floods, with 137 interventions related to adverse weather conditions, such as removal and cutting of fallen plants, and 17 for landslides.

The firefighters of Feltre went out 27 times for rescues per person, 16 for rescues and searches and once for the recovery of a body. The firefighters also took care of the safety of the animals, with 47 recovery and rescue interventions.
