ODERZO. Concert and Pro loco in Piazza Grande, Avis to open the shows of the Fairs and a national level singer to close them. This is the program of the Maddalena Fairs that the municipal administration is working on: Ca ‘Diedo has planned to stage the traditional concert and the food and wine promotion activities connected to the Mayor’s Raboso in Piazza Grande and, unless the guidelines issued by the State and the Region force this project to stop, Torresin will once again become the tutelary deity of the Fairs after a year of semi-captivity due to Covid.
The Fairs, which this year will begin on July 16 with the arrival of the funfair which will be organized between piazzale Europa and the city park of Pontremoli, will see the start of activities in piazza Grande Friday 23 with the show “Rice makes good blood”Organized by the city Avis. This shift back of the show to raise awareness on the issue of blood donation inevitably frees the box on Monday evening, since Avis usually closed the ten days of the Fairs with its show. That closing will then be entrusted to the concert on Monday 26 (fireworks are still prohibited), which the administration would like to bring back to Piazza Grande (last year Enrico Ruggeri sang in the rugby field in via Donizetti).
“At the end of May some guidelines were released, but we are not sure if they are the definitive ones. The situation is evolving, but we will try to do as much as possible in the square: last year it was painful to leave it, but it was necessary», Says Lara Corte, councilor for culture. The doubts concern the possible limitations to the public that will be able to access the shows and the way in which the chairs must be arranged to host it.
For sure Saturday 24 it will be the charity bingo and in the same context the lat the awarding of the flowered balcony.
Also on Saturday there will be room for the “Oderzo musica d’estate” competition in collaboration with the Città di Oderzo choir, and again that day will be the time of Streets of the Goeosessi: the food and wine itinerary this year will be developed on at least eight stations and will be able to touch mobile or local stands in the center. The path will be to pay: the administration has decided to set the ticket cost at a maximum of 15 euros per person.
DSunday 25 should be the turn of an entertainment show for the moment not specified. The Municipality will invest a total of 43 thousand euros in the ten days of the Fairs, the same sum made available in previous editions. The funfair, which will open close to the center in the late afternoon of Friday 16 July, will not lift its moorings before the evening of Monday 26, as in the pre-pandemic years.
