SASSARI. A nocturnal stunt turns into a tragedy for five teenagers in Bono, a village with just over 3,000 inhabitants in the Goceano area, in the province of Sassari. Last night, after an evening of revelry and, apparently, a lot of alcohol, one of them, a 15-year-old, secretly stole his father’s car, and together with four peers, he started running around. full speed through the streets of the town.
Around 4 o’clock the game turns into drama: the car, a white Volkswagen Golf, runs along via Ciancilla, on the outskirts of the town, swerves, overturns several times and ends its race against the wall of a house. Four of them get out of the car on their own legs. Pests but alive and perfectly conscious. The fifth boy, a 14-year-old, remains inside the cockpit. He hit his head violently and seems to have lost consciousness. A passer-by approaches the half-destroyed car, sees the injured boys and calls for help.
An ambulance from 118 and the carabinieri of the Compagnia di Bono arrive on the spot. Meanwhile, the four slightly injured boys have disappeared. Escape before law enforcement arrives. The 118 urgently transports the fourteen-year-old to the San Francesco hospital in Nuoro. Here the boy’s health conditions worsen. He goes into a coma and is admitted to the intensive care unit.
The soldiers of the Radiomobile Nucleus intercept the escaped boys, three of them hastily returned home, as if nothing had happened, the fifteen-year-old who was driving the car found him on the street, not far from the accident site, in a confused state. They accompany him to the emergency room: he has minor injuries and bruises due to the crash, but for him, hospitalization is not necessary. His position, however, worsens: he is positive for the alcohol test.
The carabinieri clarify the contours of the story by listening to the stories of all the adolescents involved. For the boy who was driving the car, the report was sent to the Sassari Prosecutor’s Office. The charges against him are heavy: he stole his father’s car, he drove in a state of intoxication, without a license of course given his young age, he caused a car accident by escaping without rescuing the injured and now a friend of his, following that crash risks losing your life.
