Firefighters escort 35 people with respirators
(ANSA) – PADUA, MARCH 27 – A hundred people from a populous apartment building in Padua were evacuated following a fire that broke out in an apartment on the third floor of the building. The fire may have developed following a blaze from a computer. The smoke soon invaded the building, also affecting the fourth, fifth and sixth floors. The fire brigade teams arrived on the scene and worked tirelessly to first bring people who were at risk of being intoxicated to safety. Thanks to special overpressure air hoods connected to the firefighters’ respirators, 30 residents were brought ashore, including a 93-year-old senior. Then the evacuation of the apartments continued with another seventy people. Great fright, but no one was taken to the hospital.
Firefighters are now conducting thorough checks before allowing residents to safely return to homes. (HANDLE).
