[Epoch Times July 22, 2021](Interview and report by Epoch Times special reporters Chen Han and Lin Cenxin) On July 20, a train on Metro Line 5 was trapped in Zhengzhou. On the 22nd, when the floods receded, the local area supplied electricity from district to district. Wang Jun (a pseudonym), who was able to receive information from the outside world, told The Epoch Times reporter that on the day of the trap, although he escaped a catastrophe, there were regrets. Broken car windows caused some people to suffocate due to lack of oxygen.

At around 5 o’clock in the afternoon that day, passengers who had just escaped the heavy rain, road surface water, and traffic interruption, successfully boarded Metro Line 5, they did not know what would happen next.

Line 5 trains continue to stop temporarily

Wang Jun said, “Because I waited there as soon as I got on the subway, I stopped temporarily, then stopped temporarily, and then walked to the next stop and stopped temporarily.”

After passing the beach temple station, I was going to the tunnel at Shakou Road station. Finally, the train was stuck in the tunnel and could not move. At this time, the car began to seep in.

At that time, the conductor opened the door and let the passengers walk along the sidewalk from the tunnel. Wang Jun said, “We are going to go out first. In that tunnel, we walked for a while, but then we went back and returned to the carriage. I’ve been waiting, and I was already trapped.”

The two most tormented hours of my life

There were hundreds of people on the train at that time. “The three carriages and four carriages in front were basically packed.” At that time, water slowly poured in, from the ankles, to the calves, to the waist, and finally to the chest.

“At first, everyone didn’t panic, but when many people couldn’t breathe, everyone started to feel a little nervous.” It was almost 8 o’clock, and the next two hours were the two longest and most dangerous experiences he had experienced. hour.

The video showed that when the water inside the car reached the chest, the water outside the car rose higher than the inside of the car. At that time, some people felt that the air volume was insufficient, but there was no way. The water level outside was too high.

Everyone was hesitating whether to break the window. Wang Jun said that it was a pity that there was no life-saving hammer at the time, and there was no way to smash the glass, so he could only use a fire extinguisher. I also repeatedly yelled, “There are fire extinguishers at both ends of the seats, and they can be smashed.” However, it is estimated that they can’t hear it, or something, because the water behind (carriage) is deeper, which makes them slower.”

In the end, even the lights were turned off. Later, it was supposed to be an outdoor rescuer who arrived. There was a small stick hammer and they were rescued one after another. “No one fainted in the two cars around us at that time, but afterwards, they continued In the back compartment (coming out), I fainted a lot, half unconscious, and someone was holding it up and coming out with his arms.”

Wang Jun said, “Afterwards, the water level outside slowly dropped, lower than the inside, and then the window was opened, but at that time many people were suffocated.”

Rescued at about 10 o’clock, he witnessed seven or eight people lying on the platform, and in the corridor of the original tunnel, there were some lying there that hadn’t come out.

Looking back on the whole incident, it was quite frightening and regrettable. Wang Jun sighed and said, in the end, he was forced to come out, but there were still more than a dozen people.
