Earlier official reports stated that Fu Zhenghua was involved in Sun Lijun’s political gang.
The Supreme People’s Procuratorate of the Communist Party of China (CPC) announced that it had arrested Fu Zhenghua, the former deputy director of the Social and Legal Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, on suspicion of accepting bribes and perverting the law for personal gain.
Fu Zhenghua was investigated on October 2, 2021, and double-opened in March 2022.
At that time, the CCP officially reported that Fu Zhenghua was charged with as many as ten counts, such as “never truly loyal to the CCP”, “extremely inflated political ambitions and extremely despicable political conduct”, “unscrupulous means to achieve personal political goals”, “participation in Sun Lijun’s political gang, Forming factions, forming parties for personal gain”, “frauding and deceiving the central government on major issues, endangering the centralization and unity of the party”, “using and carrying guns in violation of regulations for a long time, causing serious safety hazards”, etc.
Fu Zhenghua, 67 years old, served as the Party Secretary, Deputy Director and Director of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau of the Communist Party of China when Zhou Yongkang was in charge of the Ministry of Public Security and the Political and Legal Committee. From January 2015 to February 2018, he served as the Communist Party of Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance, Member of the Central Political and Legal Committee, Deputy Head of the National Leading Group for Preventing and Handling the Problem of X-rays, Director of the Central “610” Office, Executive Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Security since May 2016, and Minister of Justice in March 2018. In May 2020, he was transferred to the idle position of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Fu Zhenghua was accused of participating in Sun Lijun’s political gang. Sun Lijun, the former deputy minister of the Ministry of Public Security of the Communist Party of China and deputy director of the “610” Office, was sacked in April 2020.
On January 15, 2022, the anti-corruption feature film of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China first exposed “Sun Lijun’s political gang”, including Wang Like, former secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of Jiangsu Province, Deng Huilin, former director of Chongqing Public Security, and Liu Xinyun, former director of Shanxi Provincial Public Security Department , Gong Daoan, former director of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau, etc. Fu Zhenghua also appeared in the film.
Fu Zhenghua was accused of illegally using and carrying firearms for a long time. On January 13 this year, Sun Lijun was also charged with “illegal possession of firearms”.
Before Sun Lijun and Fu Zhenghua, several deputy ministers of the Ministry of Public Security of the Communist Party of China were investigated, including Li Dongsheng (15 years in prison), Meng Hongwei (13 years in prison), Yang Huanning, Sun Lijun, etc.
Gao Xin, an overseas Free Asia columnist, once disclosed that in his early years, Sun Lijun was a Shanghai gang promoted by the current member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China, Han Zheng, and the former Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the Central Committee, Meng Jianzhu.
Professor Feng Chongyi, a Chinese studies scholar and a professor at the University of Technology Sydney in Australia, told VOA that Xi Jinping’s focus on Sun Lijun’s case was actually aimed at Meng Jianzhu, who is behind Sun Lijun, and Zeng Qinghong and Jiang Zemin, who are behind Meng Jianzhu.
Dong Guangping, a former police officer in mainland China, once told The Epoch Times that the official notification of Fu Zhenghua’s problems was all about political issues. And winning Fu Zhenghua is the result of the struggle between the anti-Xi forces and the Xi forces.
Dong Guangping believes that the anti-Xi forces are now gathering strength to resist Xi Jinping’s re-election campaign. Before the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the competition between the anti-Xi forces and the Xi Jinping forces will intensify, and there will be many incidents and cases.
Current affairs commentator Wang Youqun said that senior officials who joined Sun Lijun’s political gang were being punished one by one. The behind-the-scenes bosses of Sun Lijun’s political gang—Meng Jianzhu, Zeng Qinghong, and Jiang Zemin—will definitely be punished.
In addition, as the former director of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, the deputy minister of the Ministry of Public Security, the deputy leader of the “610” Leading Group of the Central Committee, the director of the “610 Office” of the Central Committee, and the minister of the Ministry of Justice, he is not only an important member of the CCP and Jiang Zemin’s group to persecute Falun Gong. He is also the behind-the-scenes planner and commander of various persecution crimes, and must be responsible for various persecution crimes against Falun Gong that occurred during his term of office.
According to the overseas Minghui website, in January this year, Fu Zhenghua’s personal background and record of persecuting Falun Gong were reported to the governments of 29 countries by overseas Falun Gong practitioners, requesting the governments of all countries to impose sanctions on Fu Zhenghua and his family according to law, including refusing visas and freezing assets.
