A serious traffic accident occurred on the E40 near Vlierzele (Sint-Lievens-Houtem) on Saturday morning around half past five, resulting in one death and one seriously injury. The highway was closed for hours, but has since been reopened.

The accident took place around 5.30 am on the E40 towards Ghent.
