Four speed cameras against missile cars are coming in Roncade: “Asked by the residents”

RONCADE. Upon returning from holidays, the Roncadesi will have to pay more attention to driving and take their foot off the accelerator. Four speed camera boxes will be positioned in via Montiron and via Pantiera. The decision of the junta led by the mayor Pieranna Zottarelli dates back to early July, and will be concretely operational in the coming weeks.

“We have conducted inspections and collected the reports of citizens,” said the mayor Pieranna Zottarelli, “there in the car you run too much.” Four orange boxes will be installed, which can then be used by the local police for telelaser surveys. More precisely, they will be located in via Pantiera near street numbers 66 and 101, and in via Montiron near street numbers 18 and 47. Both directions of travel will therefore be controlled.

It is now a matter of days: in via Montiron the garages will arrive shortly, and in via Pantiera they will be installed as soon as the asphalting is finished. «We have noticed, through the analysis of traffic flows and on the basis of the perception of citizens, that the speed of the vehicles in those streets is too high, and in some cases the residents themselves are overrun. We are counting on the fact that the installation will increase safety for everyone, especially for those most exposed to risk, such as children, pedestrians and those who travel by bicycle », Zottarelli explains. The mayor is confident that the orange boxes, with their presence, are enough to dissuade motorists from pressing the accelerator even if they are not boxes with fixed speed cameras inside. The local police will have to insert the telelaser each time and remain in place for the registration. This is a system adopted more and more often by municipal administrations to try to limit speed in residential areas. On the road safety front, this is not the only measure adopted by the Zottarelli junta: in fact, the request for regional funding for the installation of a traffic light right between via Pantiera, via Roma and via Garibaldi has recently been formalized. That it is a red dot intersection is also indicated by an image of google street view that has accidentally immortalized a school bus in a prohibited turn maneuver to the left. Hopefully, the orange boxes and the traffic light will help improve the situation.
