In the introduction to Nadef and signed by the Minister of Economy Daniele Franco, there is also a reference to the health situation of the country. Because, of course, the better the situation from the contagion point of view, the faster the recovery will be from the economic point of view.
And then it is clear that the monitoring is and will be punctual, precise, almost surgical. Minister Franco himself explains this in the draft introducing the Economics and Finance document approved this morning by the Council of Ministers. “The trend of infections and pressure indicators on the Italian hospital system will be constantly monitored and the effects on infections of the start of the school year and the next return to work in the public sector will be carefully evaluated”.
And he then added: “There is, however, a concrete possibility of gradually recovering normal levels of openness in social, cultural and sporting activities, which will help to reach the pre-crisis level of quarterly GDP by the middle of next year”.
