From free tests to salivary screenings, this is how the regions prepare for school face-to-face

Lombardy: two free tampons per month

Lombardy has launched a pilot project on vaccinations and screening activities that from Monday 23 August also includes children aged 6-13 (i.e. those who still cannot get vaccinated), as well as those aged 14-19 , the possibility to undergo free antigenic swabs every 15 days at the pharmacy. 700 pharmacies have already joined this campaign.

Marche, 500 thousand Covid anti-spread salivary swabs

In the Marche region, the Region is concluding the procedure for the purchase of 500,000 salivary swabs to monitor and limit the spread of Covid-19 in schools. The provision could be made directly by the anti-Covid Commissioner to reduce the time. The goal is to proceed with swabs that ensure a high level of effectiveness of the protocols.

In Veneto tests in sentinel schools

Similar project in Veneto where the governor Luca Zaia underlines: «The national project for the school is borrowed from the project of the sentinel schools of Veneto». The region has bought one million salivary molecular tests on paper and will use them to periodically sample students.

“We are working to evaluate the possibility of doing salivary tests for students returning to school for a safe reopening of the school year,” the Abruzzo regional councilor for education also announced. “We must establish phases, age groups and methods – explains the commissioner -, in particular on salivary swabs we have started a discussion with the Healthcare sector”.
