From grandfather Bruno to granddaughter Alessandra: the green turning point of Keralpen stoves

by admin

In Trichiana a company in step with the times: “Low emissions thanks to the catalysts we make in the factory”

BORGO VALBELLUNA. From Bruno to Alessandra in the sign of respect for the environment. Borgo Valbelluna is rediscovered green thanks to the catalyzed stoves so much appreciated by Canadians and Americans. A local excellence that bears the signature of grandfather and grandson.

Bruno Schiocchet in 1982, under a roof in Trichiana, began to produce stoves, or rather stube as they are called in the mountain area. He produces and experiments giving life to the Keralpen family business. The experience gained at a young age as a manufacturer of paints first and a chemical later, help Bruno to climb the rankings of popular approval, but the difficulties are not lacking and depend on the regulations on pollution that are updated at dizzying, almost daily rhythms. This is how the help of young figures is essential, in step with the times without detracting from those who have pulled the cart for years and always with excellent results. Moral of the story: Alessandra, Bruno’s nephew, arrives at the company who, not yet twenty, takes the reins in the sign of the green “turning point”.

Alessandra has decided to stay, investing in the Belluno mountains. He would have, and would still have time to discover the world also thanks to his work and the knowledge developed in a very short time. But no. “I’m staying because I feel I have to offer my contribution”, revealed Alessandra, explaining what her work consists of. «Our stoves burn at high temperatures and are equipped with special catalysts designed to filter fumes. These catalysts are made directly in our factory in Trichiana. We use materials with certain peculiarities patented directly by the company ».

What are the benefits?

«Certainly the most significant advantage is represented by the low emissions, so much so that our stoves have achieved the 4-star certification, directly issued by Kiwa. Another advantage can be seen from the reduction in maintenance interventions both for the stove and for the flue. All this is possible thanks to the fact that the temperature in the combustion chamber is considerable. The last advantage found is the increase in efficiency and consequently the reduction of the carbon dioxide emitted ».

What will the future hold for us?

«In energy we still have a way to go, we are investing a lot in research and development. We are doing it too, in our well-equipped laboratory where we are perfecting prototypes already in operation and in the process of being patented in solar and rapid wood drying. Already in 2022 we foresee a qualitative leap in the energy sector. Not just stoves and solar, the opportunity to have fields and not want to leave them fallow is leading to a specific research linked to the reuse of ancient grains ».
