RIVE D’ARCANO. The jury of the historic “Merit Furlan” award, now in its thirty-ninth edition, has chosen the four winners from a shortlist of about 15 candidates who will be enrolled in the golden register of winners for 2022.

They are Amo Masotti, promoter of social and cultural volunteering, Walter Tomada teacher, journalist and writer, Beppino Lodolo singer and musician and the co-director of Messaggero Veneto, Paolo Mosanghini.

Special mention to the “Camillo Borgna” band of Madrisio di Fagagna for the 150th anniversary of its foundation.

The Merit Furlan Award – comments Gabriele Contardo, Mayor of the Municipality of Rive D’Arcano, the organizer of the event – is a testimony of professionalism, talent and passion; in an era that burns everything up in a short time it is important to recognize, remember and point out the excellence of our Friuli as an example ».

The awards will be held on July 29 at the castle of Arcano Superiore. Masotti in 1977 was one of the creators and founders of the non-profit organization “Via di Natale”. Walter Tomada, journalist and teacher of literary subjects, directs the historical periodical “La Patrie dal Friul”. He created the “Docuscuele” documentation center for Friulian language teachers. Numerous collaborations with him in various important events such as “Vicino e Lontano” and many contributions of local history in specialized magazines. He has been involved for years in writing the book “History of Friuli and Friulian from its origins to us”.

Paolo Mosanghini co-director of Messaggero Veneto since January 2021, he started working in the newspaper in 1990 and has been talking about Friuli for thirty years. In the editorial office he held various positions of responsibility: from deputy to head of service of “Cronaca” “Current Affairs-Region” to deputy editor-in-chief and head of the “Cronaca” and “Provincia” sectors. Chief Editor at the Central Office in 2018, he was then appointed Deputy Director. Currently he shares the direction of the newspaper together with the editor of Messaggero Veneto and Il Piccolo, Omar Monestier.

Mosanghini, a graduate in Sociology, from Friuli, from Mortegliano, has also tried his hand as a writer.

Beppino Lodolo, musician and singer from Udine with a successful activity, including international, of over 45 years with 520 concerts all over the world. Lodolo is defined as the “Singing and image ambassador of Friuli and of beautiful Italian music”. The passion for music and theater accompany him throughout his life.

He founded the orchestra “I soloisti Friulani” and performed with artists such as Domenico Modugno, Massimo Ranieri, Orietta Berti and many others. –
