The stories of Francesco Madotto, now standard bearer of the Arma at the Quirinale
RESIA. He spent 45 years at the Quirinale, seeing seven presidents of the Republic pass before his eyes. And even today, despite being retired, he continues to attend the palace for official ceremonies, with the role of standard bearer of the medal table of the Carabinieri.
He is Francesco Madotto, born in 1939, a Friulian from Val Resia, who had the privilege of serving, with the cuirassier’s uniform, Antonio Segni, Giuseppe Saragat, Giovanni Leone, Sandro Pertini, Francesco Cossiga, Oscar Luigi Scalfaro and Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.
