From the Avena to the Grappa, the “Sport 4×4” tourism project is born

PEDAVENA. Four territories, four actions. But also 24 partners. United to promote tourism, through sport. In one sentence, here is the “Sport 4×4” project, presented this morning, Thursday 17 March, in the Pedavena Brewery. In addition to the operators who have decided to create a network, the regional councilor for tourism, Federico Caner, held it in baptism. The Veneto Region is in fact an active part in this project, funded at 80% with 506,230.64 euros on axis 3 of the Por Fesr 2014-2020, with an admissible amount of 645 thousand.

A network project, which aims to bring together different realities and experiences. Starting from an assumption: the Veneto, and in particular its hilly areas, can become in effect an open-air gym for sports enthusiasts at 360 °. From the most adrenaline-pumping to those suitable for families and all ages. And with a center of gravity, the area of ​​Monte Grappa, which connects two Unesco heritage sites (the Dolomites and the Prosecco Hills) and which is itself a Biosphere Reserve.

But not only. Around sports there is the desire to build a complete tourist experience, which allows you to discover the destination in all its aspects, based on the 4 natural elements:

– Water, diving into the thrill of canyoning, rafting, sailing, sup, dragon boat, river canoe, underwater geology.

– Fire, energy on the pedals, with gravel, mtb, ebike, discovering the hundreds of dedicated routes.

– The air, experiencing the territory from above, through free flight and paragliding

– The earth, feeling the acceleration of the beat while climbing, or practicing Nordic walking, trekking, hiking.

The pandemic has changed the cards on the table. More and more people have rediscovered the pleasure of getting to know the area, doing outdoor sports. “And in Veneto we have everything, we must be aware of this,” said commissioner Caner. «There are absolute excellences, but what has been lacking a bit so far has been real coordination. This is why a project of this type is strategic for us ».

Several actions are planned. Great commitment will be dedicated to promotion through social media, with the creation and sharing of videos and posts made ad hoc. «The aim», explains Cristina Crema, coordinator through the Asolan lands – Monte Grappa area programmatic agreement, «is to ensure that companies do not promote themselves, but get to know each other and collaborate together. Each of them has invested their own money to promote the destinations, not the individual company, or brand, or business. And this is the right spirit, which too often is not recognized or practiced ».

In addition to communicating and creating a shared calendar of events (which prevents overlaps, thus enhancing the various activities), an action is envisaged in the context of corporate welfare.

“We have already developed the first proposals for tourism products in this area”, explains Martina Gris, of the Dolomiti Prealpi tourism consortium, “which will then be included in the most well-known welfare platforms, used by both local and national companies, alongside the proposals of the great international players. The aim is to promote the territory starting from the inside, giving the employees of the companies the possibility to live a 360 ° experience in a territory that can offer a lot “.
