UDINE. Shooting with Patrick Dempsey, Grey’s Anatomy Doctor Strangelove, taking part in a Marvel movie, acting as Anne Hathaway, Oscar winner for Les Misérables. Better to overdo it, to really dream, especially if you have just turned 15 and telling your passion, even with a certain embarrassment, fills you with happiness.
Mia Pinat, born in Udine in 2006, light brown hair and very blue eyes, she is building those big dreams every day, one after the other. She was Alice in the Rai series “I wanted to be a rockstar”, she was chosen for the short film “The silence of time” by Pupi Avati (soon to be released), she will be one of the protagonists of a TV series “Girls of Venice”, in progress.
Mia, really an actress by chance. “I was 10-11 years old and my mother sent a photograph of me to an agency in Milan: that’s where I entered the world of fashion,” says the girl, who has just finished her first at Bertoni. That, however, is only a phase.
A short film arrives with the Foundation Le Cinque vie di Giorgio, the music video for “Emotion without end” by Gigi D’Alessio, small jobs for Disney (“I learned that they had taken me back from school, I went crazy with joy” ), the serial project for BTicino’s Youtube and social channels, the “Barracuda” video by Boomdabash. «Seeing myself again embarrasses me, also because I tend to be very critical of myself, but I love everything about this profession, the thrill of starting to shoot, the moment of the take – adds Mia -. Certainly to move forward you have to study: diction, the way of being on the set, how to face a script ».
The Verona film acting school “Master film academy” is making it grow. And between training and auditions, there are countless kilometers covered around Italy. Accompanying her, her parents Alessia and Ivan and, often, grandfather Mario who “is fantastic, he makes friends on the set with everyone, even with the directors”, says Mia.
If 2019 was the year of the success of the series “I wanted to be a rockstar” directed by Matteo Oleotto (“One of the most important experiences, too bad I didn’t know Battiston”) and of the series for children “New School”, 2020 will be remembered for his participation in the short film by Pupi Avati.
Devourer of American TV series (“From Gossip Girl to Grey’s Anatomy, in original language”), she admits that meeting one of the leading directors in Italy during a course left her breathless: “Precise, helpful and sincere , even in telling you what is wrong: reciting a monologue in front of Avati was incredible. I was trembling ».
Mia’s “grown-up” life can upset the balance with peers. More envy or desire to share? “In the past, some have criticized me because I had to skip school for these projects, but this year I found very quiet companions – he confesses -. In any case, I tell very little about what I do and even on social media I don’t like to show myself. Also because in the end I don’t have to prove to anyone who I am, only to me ». Mia will continue on this path as long as the passion is alive: “Acting is my greatest desire, but ideas change quickly: I do not exclude other paths”.
