[Epoch Times, July 24, 2021](The Epoch Times reporter Li Yun interviewed and reported) Heavy rainfall for many days in Henan has caused floods everywhere. The Henan government of the Communist Party of China held a press conference on the afternoon of the 24th to announce the number of victims in this round of disasters.

According to preliminary official statistics, as of 22:00 on the 23rd, this round of heavy rainfall caused 7.579,000 people in 133 counties and 1306 townships in Henan Province to be affected, with 57 people dead and 5 missing.

However, there have been a large number of posts looking for relatives on mainland social media, far exceeding the official deaths and missing figures. One of the websites listed the personal data of more than 130 missing persons.

Mainland media such as The Paper and Sina.com also published information on many missing persons, many of whom were missing from towns outside Zhengzhou, and some were washed away by water at home.

Families of missing persons are distraught

Among them, Lu Yanghan of Haigouzhai, Xingyang County, Henan Province, has lost contact for 4 days. On July 24, the Epoch Times reporter called Lu Yanghan’s mother to ask about the child’s disappearance.

Lu’s mother said that the child was washed away by water at home. “On July 20, it rained very heavily, and water from many places in the south had accumulated to us. At that time, the three-story house was already flooded to the roof. The child was at home alone and was washed away by the water on the second floor. “

“The flooding is very serious. Many houses in the village have been destroyed.” Mother Lu said. There are several houses near her house. The houses have been destroyed. One person drowned in the house, and one man is missing. Did not find it either.

Mother Lu said that the drainage under their newly built road was not good, and only a few cement pipes were used to drain the water. After the heavy water broke the road, the houses in the village were also flooded. After some houses were washed down, many villagers fell in love. Relying on friends, Lu’s mother is also temporarily staying with relatives.

According to the information of the missing, Zhang Zhanxiu, a citizen of Xinxiang City, drove home at more than 2 pm on the 20th. He encountered flooding near Xinyi Road, Administrative Street, Xinxiang City. He escaped from the car and then lost contact with his family. Family members said that Zhang Zhanxiu’s vehicle and accompanying personnel have been found, and Zhang Zhanxiu is likely to be washed away by the flood. The search and rescue have been unsuccessful so far.

Li Li’s family of three in Baisha Town, Zhengzhou also disappeared in the flood on the 20th. Li Li’s family said that they were still in contact with Li Li on WeChat at 8:30 in the morning, and then lost contact. Family members said that Li Li has been pregnant for 9 months with a two-and-a-half-year-old girl by her side, and Li Li’s husband Gao Lei is also currently out of touch.

People in Henan: The authorities will not release real data

The disaster occurred on July 20. The upstream reservoir of Zhengzhou was flooded without warning, causing floods throughout Zhengzhou. Floods flowed into the subway system and Jingguang Road tunnel. A large number of people and vehicles were besieged by the flood, causing heavy casualties. At the same time, 1,306 villages and towns in Henan’s rural areas suffered severe floods and their houses collapsed. Therefore, the authorities released statistics on the deaths of dozens of people, causing serious doubts among the Chinese people.

Henan citizen Wang Ying told The Epoch Times reporter that no matter how many people died on the Zhengzhou subway, how many people were buried in the Beijing-Guangzhou tunnel, or how many people were washed away in the countryside, I believe the authorities would not release the actual death data.

Wang Ying said that the floods in central Henan were entirely man-made disasters and were caused by secretly releasing floods from various reservoirs. As long as the government does not release the floods quietly and inform the people in advance when they want to release the floods, it will not cause such a catastrophic disaster.

Writer: Disaster video emerges official cover-ups and public grievances

Mainland Internet writer Jing Chu told The Epoch Times that netizens are now very concerned about how many people died in Henan this time.

Jing Chu said that after the Zhengzhou Jingguang Road tunnel was drained, a large bus was pulled out. The bus was dragged out in broad daylight, and the windows were covered with black cloth. The people in the bus were probably all drowned. In addition, many villages in Xinxiang were flooded, people lacked water and food, and many people lost contact. I believe it will be a mystery how many people died and disappeared.

Jing Chu criticized the authorities for “not for disaster relief, but for blocking news, and treating people’s lives like weeds.”

A large number of posts asking for help emerged on the mainland’s Weibo and Twitter. One of the netizens wrote: “The whole village of Dongfan, Nanfan, Xifan, and Wangguanying in Huixian City, Xinxiang has flooded. It has become the hardest hit area. The village is mostly left-behind elderly, children, and women! Now there is no water or electricity, most people have lost contact with their phones!

Jing Chu said that no matter how the authorities conceal the disaster and death data, it will not help, because a large number of live pictures and videos on the Internet are living evidence and it is difficult for the authorities to conceal it.
