Five girls with tailed costumes in Santi Apostoli canal

(ANSA) – VENICE, 11 JUL – After the glued hands, the “bloody” Calatrava bridge and the child’s shoes at the station, here are the “beached” sirens, stuffed with money: Extinction rebellion struck again on the last day of G20 in Venice. At 12.00 today five girls arrived at the foot of the Santi Apostoli bridge, on the route towards Rialto, put on a blue mermaid tail suit and stretched out on the water on the steps overlooking the canal.

Behind them a banner in Italian and English: “They are poisoning our dreams”, while a “minstrel” played and a speaker argued the uselessness of these great events, making it clear that the real decisions have already been made. Every now and then someone went to bathe and refresh the sirens, so that they didn’t end up really burned by the scorching sun of these Venetian days. Peaceful and creative, the activists emphasized the issues dear to them, climate and finance, while respecting the city and citizenship. (HANDLE).
