Johnson chooses a veteran, former chancellor back to government
(ANSA) – LONDON, JUN 26 – Immediate and weighty choice for the replacement of the British Minister of Health, Matt Hancock, forced to resign in the midst of the Covid crisis due to the scandal of the video on the effusions with the lover Gina Coladangelo in defiance of the rules on the pandemic. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has appointed Sajid Javid, a veteran of the Tory government with Pakistani family origins, former Chancellor of the Exchequer and Interior Minister in the past, as successor.
Javid had resigned as chancellor after the 2019 election in controversy with the former eminence gray of Downing Street, Dominic Cummings, meanwhile torpedoed by Johnson. (HANDLE).
