“Until we build another one. In my case, as an actor, on stage I transform myself a little, I also protect myself, but as I always say, not being a battutist, I act as a “storyteller”. Stories that I draw from my life ».
Why, what’s his life like?
«Simple, in the last part lived in lockdown with the triad: my mother, my wife and my daughter. In this long break from work I learned to cook, with decent first courses. I got used to tidying up, and now that I have started moving again, all right if I’m not home ».
You get back on stage, but don’t you think that today the audience is expecting substantial thoughts from you actors, even comedians, to smile on?
“I’m sure. So I play on masks in every area, from work in general, to radio, or sex. And then I speak of me ».

«The place of the absolute mask, and I started with the radio. The listener creates a character around a voice. Which resists until the speaker comes out into the open ».
Sex?
«I started talking about sex toys, which the most sanctimonious deny knowing. There is always someone who maintains that certain things are not talked about… ».

«A little while ago, one evening, in a hotel, around the time when if I had followed my agency I would have been away from home 360 days a year. I didn’t want to be alone with my work anymore, because this is what happens to those who make a show if they don’t put a limit. I wanted my life, with my wife, my daughter ».

“You have to understand what makes you feel good.”
And you who make your audience laugh so much, how do you enjoy it?
«When I can decide to go on vacation, or come with my wife to Turin for a week and love the Egyptian Museum, the Mole, the amazing food. It is to go away in the morning on a motorcycle with friends, ride to Mugello for a meal and then go home. It’s following my daughter, she’s 8, she loves to dance ”.
Do you have motorcycle disease?
“Always. My daughter was three months old, I got on a motorcycle with her and started the engine. My wife is also a motorcyclist, but now we only have one motorcycle and I load it ».
He recorded the third Summertime series for Netflix. Would he change with the stage?
«The third and final series, great fun. My character, the father of one of the leading boys, grew up and there were moments when I thought we were really parent and child. And then I married Marina Massironi: the wedding scene lasts about 4 minutes, we shot it from two in the afternoon to midnight, it seemed like a real wedding, we laughed a lot. Here, TV could be retirement, next month I will turn 59 ».

“Just the idea of my daughter, of the boys, still makes me think about who to vote for. If one misses the 1970s, it is because we are digging beyond the bottom ».
Are you hanging out after the shows?
«In Turin we always go to dinner in the restaurant in front of the Colosseum, we are very loyal to Beppe, the owner. We stay up there in the wee hours ». –
