This afternoon, however, a new telephone interview is scheduled, after the stormy one on Wednesday, when Conte did not discount Draghi, underlining the seriousness of his alleged interference in the internal events of the M5s. After all, keeping the tension high with Palazzo Chigi at this moment is a way to intercept the discontent of many 5-star parliamentarians with respect to the permanence in the government majority. And to regain centrality: yesterday’s words by Draghi, who reiterated that “without the Movement there can be no government” were welcomed as a recognition and an opening towards M5s, after the closures of recent weeks. All the more reason to keep the point and postpone the reconciliation.
