He was 57 years old, he led the Kinal movement, heir to the Pasok
(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 25 – Foreini ‘Fofi’ Gennimata, leader of the Greek socialist party Movement for Change (Kinal), died at the age of 57. He had been battling cancer for some time, and in recent weeks, due to his deteriorating health, he had announced the withdrawal of his candidacy for re-election to lead the party. The news was reported by the Evangelismos hospital in Athens, quoted by the Greek media.
One of the first Greek women to hold a high-profile political office, Gennimata was first diagnosed with cancer in 2008, and a year ago the disease returned to her.
Kinal, heir to the powerful Greek socialist party Pasok, is a center-left force into which minor parties from the same area have converged. (HANDLE).
